AMAALA Marina and its Yacht Club receive their operating licence: 119 berths for yachts up to 120 metres

WHY IT MATTERS

Let me explain

The licence was handed over in Riyadh on 1 October 2026 and covers design, operation, health, safety and environmental requirements. AMAALA Marina has 119 berths, and the authority says the licensed marinas can receive yachts up to 120 metres long. It offers fuelling and marine services, with maintenance and repair facilities to be added in the coming years. AMAALA Yacht Club opened on 14 September 2026 inside the Marina Village at AMAALA, in the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Royal Reserve. Its building covers about 7,900 square metres. Designed by HKS Architects, it takes its form from the sculpted rock formations of the Red Sea coast, seen in its cantilevered terraces, and draws on maritime heritage and traditional Arabian architecture. Facilities include restaurants and lounges, a rooftop pool, private meeting suites, event spaces and an academy for sailing and watersports. Like the whole destination, the club runs entirely on renewable energy. It will be the hub of the Grand Finale of The Ocean Race 2027. AMAALA is about 3,700 km (2,000 nautical miles) from Monaco, and Alwajh International Airport is 45 minutes away (SPA, 14 September and 1 October 2026; Sabq).
