Autodesk previews an agent-first assistant that works across its products

Autodesk previewed what it calls a next-generation, standalone, agent-first experience, designed to reach across products, projects and workflows rather than replace the applications teams already use. It is a preview: Autodesk has not released it, and says timing, pricing and terms are expected to be announced in 2027.

WHY IT MATTERS

Let me explain

An agent is software that carries out steps rather than suggesting them, which is a different thing to supervise: the question stops being whether the answer is right and becomes whether the work it did is right. Nothing is available to try, and pricing is not expected until 2027, so there is nothing to pilot. What it is worth doing now is deciding which of your workflows you would be willing to let something act inside, and which you would not, before a vendor decides that for you.
