From Saudi Arabia: a three-storey villa in Riyadh with walls 3D printed in 26 days from 99% local concrete materials

Dar Al Arkan built a three-storey, 345 m2, 9.9 m tall villa in Shams Al Riyadh, northwest of Riyadh, with walls printed in 26 days on a COBOD BOD2 3D construction printer, without a tent, in temperatures above 40°C.

WHY IT MATTERS

Let me explain

The concrete used the D.fab solution by CEMEX and COBOD, with 99% of materials sourced locally and 1% from a central source; printed materials cost under 10,000 euro. The villa (ground floor 130 m2, first floor 140 m2 and a roof annex) complies with Saudi building codes and has smart home systems, nine rooftop solar panels and a heat-reflecting nano coating on the exterior walls. At completion in 2022 COBOD described it as the tallest on-site 3D printed building in the world (COBOD International).
